Soothing Sessions Bodywork's Weekly Health Tips (and sometimes more).

It's the great North American Solar Eclipse, baby!

Week of April 7th, 2024

What’s Happening: On Monday, the largest solar eclipse will happen over North America in 70 years! The state of Wisconsin will not be in full totality, but will see a partial eclipse at 84% totality between the hours of 12:50 p.m. and 3:20 p.m. Those who are farther south in Wisconsin will have a larger percentage of totality. Now, if we can get the weather to cooperate for us, it will be a great experience. My question to you is...
1) Where will you be going to see the eclipse? At home, at a planetarium, online or watching TV? And...
2) Got your NASA rated Solar Eclipse lenses? Check with the Weyauwega, Fremont and Waupaca libraries!

Want to learn more about the solar eclipse and/or watch it online? Visit NASA's site! https://science.nasa.gov/eclipses/future-eclipses/eclipse-2024

And if that isn't enough...TAXES ARE DUE ON MONDAY APRIL 15th, 2024.

Wow! I thought I'd never get our taxes ready for our accountant. But plugging away, I was able to get it done. My CPA appreciated the spreadsheets I gave him. Our taxes are done and sent in. How about you? Don't stress! You will get them finished, too. And how to celebrate? Maybe a tension-relieving Massage & Bodywork session is on your mind. Check out my appointment openings farther down in this newsletter.

Now onto something more fun...

Weekly Newsletter - March 30th - Happy April Fools!

Week of March 30th, 2024

Should I say "happy" April Fools Day?

What’s Happening:  This week is April Fool’s Day. And wouldn't you know? Mother Nature had a great big laugh by sending us Snowstorm Cora. UGH.

I was forced to cancel and reschedule my clients for Tuesday afternoon and all day Wednesday. I am planning, no praying, that the rest of the week will be better...and well, LESS snow.

- ABOUT THESE PESKY WINTER APPOINTMENT CANCELLATIONS -

I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by recent appointment cancellations due to the snowstorms. Please know that when making these decisions, I carefully consider several factors:

  • Firstly, I closely monitor weather forecasts throughout the day and evening to ensure the safety of both me and my clients.
  • Secondly, living in a hilly area, I must assess whether it will be safe for clients to navigate our driveway and surroundings. Your safety is always a priority.
  • Additionally, as my husband and I maintain the home studio, it can be physically demanding, especially considering my current health challenges. Unfortunately, I'm unable to assist my husband as much as I would like.

In the event of a cancellation, I strive to promptly reschedule your appointment to a convenient alternative. If this isn't possible, I encourage you to check my online calendar to find a suitable time that fits your schedule. Your understanding and flexibility are greatly appreciated.

Now back to something more fun...

And one of these fun things is to resurrect the weekly newsletter. It's got health tips as well as appointment openings and fun facts to make your day. I hope it brings a weekly smile to your face.

Get Ready…April is Stress Awareness Month

Spring is upon us. It’s time to dust off winter, take a deep breath, and ready ourselves for a new season. It can be a busy time of year, but don’t stress. No, really, don't stress. Stress is a natural negative reaction in your mind and body to challenges. And while it can positively motivate you to get through certain obstacles, it can also wreak havoc on your physical and mental health.
You can't escape stress, but you can change how you deal with it.

When you're faced with anxiety:

  • Take a deep breath and focus on why you're actually feeling this way.
  • Take a walk or do any exercise where you can think about the situation and how to handle it without blowing up, figuratively and literally.
  • Be proactive and schedule regular massage appointments. Massage has been shown to reduce stress significantly on physical and psychological levels.

Never forget, we are here for you.

Have a great week!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Week of March 17, 2024

What’s Happening:  It's been a very busy two weeks here at the Studio. As many of you know, I have left my volunteer position with the Weyauwega Area Chamber of Commerce. I was burning my candle at too many ends, and it's been affecting my health. I have been sick off and on for the last 6 months, which coincided with many of the Chamber's Community Events. Something had to give. Now I am back to focusing on my health and seeing you wonderful clients and having fun!

And one of these fun things is to resurrect the weekly newsletter. It's got health tips as well as appointment openings and fun facts to make your day. I hope it brings a weekly smile to your face.
